Kateryna Shevchenko, representative of DOBROBAT, participated in professional discussions at the United States Capitol focused on infrastructure resilience, regional security, and Ukraine’s long-term recovery amid ongoing wartime conditions.
The event brought together international policy experts, security specialists, institutional representatives, and professionals engaged in addressing key challenges related to civilian infrastructure protection, energy resilience, and sustainable recovery coordination in crisis-affected regions.
During the discussions, Kateryna Shevchenko shared practical perspectives based on DOBROBAT’s direct recovery operations in Ukraine, including rapid-response coordination, volunteer mobilization, infrastructure stabilization, and community recovery efforts carried out in frontline and post-crisis environments.
Particular attention was given to the importance of developing resilient infrastructure systems capable of functioning under conditions of continued instability, security threats, and energy disruptions. Participants emphasized that effective recovery requires not only the reconstruction of damaged facilities, but also long-term strategic planning, operational coordination, and cross-sector collaboration.
As part of the professional dialogue, Kateryna Shevchenko also engaged with international experts and representatives affiliated with the Atlantic Council Eurasia Center to discuss scalable approaches to recovery coordination, civil resilience, and sustainable reconstruction initiatives supporting Ukraine’s future development.
