DOBROBAT representatives participated in a strategic discussion focused on sustainable reconstruction, cultural preservation, and international collaboration in the context of Ukraine’s recovery and broader resilient infrastructure development.
The meeting brought together professionals working in architecture, urban development, preservation, and innovation to discuss long-term approaches to rebuilding communities affected by war and other large-scale crises.
The discussion included engagement with Margie O’Driscoll, an American architect and urban strategist focused on sustainable and community-centered development, and David P. Wessel, a recognized American expert in architectural conservation and historic preservation.
The conversation emphasized that modern reconstruction requires not only rebuilding infrastructure, but also developing scalable systems that integrate resilience planning, cultural preservation, cross-sector collaboration, and transparent recovery coordination.
Particular attention was given to how knowledge exchange between Ukraine and the United States can contribute to internationally relevant approaches in disaster recovery, resilient urban planning, preservation strategy, and community restoration.
As part of its international mission, DOBROBAT continues to strengthen partnerships between Ukraine and the United States by connecting civil society initiatives with academic institutions, industry professionals, and international expertise.
